This is a vintage Trinket Box manufactured by the Bagley Glass Company in England between 1935 and the 50βs.
It was part of a vanity set called Whitby (#3002) comprised of 7 items, 9 pieces in all: Tray, 2 tall candlesticks, 2 short candlesticks, large trinket box & lid, small powder box & lid. The design of this set was commissioned from British Royal College lecturer Alexander Hardie Williamson. It was released in several colors: Flint, pink frosted, blue, blue frosted, green, green frosted, and amber (these are the known colors at this time). This is the large trinket box in Amber. There are usage or wear marks plus several air bubbles left during the pressing or manufacturing process. The foot of the base does have a chip which is visible in one photo. There are βwhite spotsβ visible in several of the photos β these are reflections from my light source. They are βNOTβ defects in the piece. Overall, the piece stands 5 inches tall to the top of the saw-tooth finial. It is approximately 6 ΒΌ inches from point to point on its diameter.
Recent listings for the COMPLETE vanity set have reached almost $500.00.
